The firm recently obtained a sweeping victory by defeating in its entirety a motion to certify a wage and hour class action brought against firm client Guzman Brothers, Inc., a family-owned restaurant business. After initiating a putative class action alleging claims of missed meal and rest breaks and unpaid overtime, Plaintiff moved the court to certify a class of all current and former non-exempt employees over a four-year period. Accepting all of the central arguments made by the firm in opposition, the court denied the motion in its entirety. The case is Ramirez v. Guzman Brothers, Inc., No. RG15764856 (Cal. Sup. Ct.).
